US Airways Flight 1549 rests outside my apartment
|
I was in Vermont at a client meeting when my parents called from Ireland after seeing the US Airways Airbus A320 in the Hudson on Irish Television. Fantastic! ive beeen dreaming of a low flyby for 3 years now with the view I have off Newark. Not only am I 6 hours away, the plane decides to make a landing.
Right now, im watching CNN at 12:40am and looking at the half submerged plane at the same time. I just took the above vidoes and photos.
Currently where the plane has come to rest, is my jetski playground from March to December. I know that wall, it's exactly 37feet deep right there. My jetski has a depth gauge. The right wing must be now stuck in the soft bed.
Ive been home almost an hour and the plane isnt sinking an inch more. It's wedged. Awesome!
My brother and his girlfriend live 4 floors down and took some better photos.

It must be crazy having all happening right outside your window! Interesting stuff to see, since Swedish TV news programs didn't show this much.

Look at image 1838. That could be birdstrike damage to the leading edge of the wing, and the trailing flap.

How incredibly generous of you to share these unique shots with all of us out here in cyber space. The story of this crash, with the miraculous recovery of all on board, somehow has made me realize there are so many really great people out there who touch our lives in some way.
