Freaking Cosmic
Featured in Wired a few months ago, Cosmic Motors is the creation of talented futurist Daniel Simon. Someone commented on my Trontastic update, informing me that Daniel also designed the bikes for the new movie. Designers I work with often get inspiration from every day objects but the world is lacking that 2010 inspiration we expected to have in real life these days but unfortunately it doesn't get much better than the iPhone. Thankfully, via stunning well executed creative execution, Daniel gives us that escape we last had when the Matrix came out.

Daniel's book is called Cosmic Motors: Spaceships, Cars and Pilots of Another Galaxy and I can't wait to get my copy for a tasty treat of inspiration. Can you imagine a collab between TekNoel and Cosmic Motors?

Every detail from the interface control panel on the back rear wheel to the curvature of the body seems to be treated with the same insanity and polish. I am sure this talent comes with Daniel actually researching his designs to ensure they compliment the laws of physics, not breaking them.

About Cosmic Motors:
Come explore the vehicle designs of a far away galaxy called Galaxion where futuristic concepts exist in everyday life. Nine different spaceships, pods, race cars, giant trains, warships and balloons from various planets of the Galaxion system are shown from concept to completion.

Order the book and contribute to our future before we die of boredom and under delivery.

Gosh, these designs are stunning alright. Although, I'm still hoping that teleporting will be my main mode of transport!

I so agree. We seem to be stand by. But one ting I seem to notice is that smaller cars are where the car design are putting the fresh look. I got so exited about a year ago that I got and extra car in my Honda Civic 2009. I still love it and use it more then the Audi. I love about everything with it from design to handling. I even after almost a year last week found out it comes with a air compressor and tire fix in the back as standard!!. Love it :-)

Nice entry David.
I usually see the film 2001 A Space Odyssey when I want to have a taste of the future...how sad is that? A film from 1968 beeing more futuristic than pretty much anything today. I think the more people design futuristic, the faster we will get there!

quote DAVID: 'Someone commented on my Trontastic update....' :) - me GUILTY! I'm glad you liked it.
This book acctually came out late 2007!! I've been following this designer since. He's a great photographer too. The last one, DETONATOR comes in few diferent color schemes. I personally like THIS ONE the most Mr Simon is deffinatly outofthisworld, vechicle designer, In addition to that check out who is the man who wrote the forword for his book.
Best,
Alex

This cars are awesome but I don't think that we can replace our transport means too soon with this kind of things. I would really love to tho. I'm tired of the traffic and the noise in public transportation and every time I need to go somewhere I attend the Party bus rental company.
