David,
A very good read. Over the last years time, 70% of my projects have been Flash based. Since the new year, I would have to say that client requests for mobile specific content and mobile apps themselves have sky rocketed to well over 50% of the projects at Visuell. With the release of the iPad, I expect that number to increase even more.
Personally, I love what Flash can do in terms of creating a fun, interactive, and unique experience, however, the mighty dollar rules all, and if more and more people are using the iPhone, iPad, and other mobile devices, we as designers and developers need to find a way to serve up what these "clients" want to see. Video HAS to be streamed to these devices soon. If not, I would be interested to see if there will ever be a monopoly hearing against Apple and their dominance in the media related distribution field (similar to the MS Office hearings years ago).
All that being said - I look forward to tinkering around with HTML 5 and video specific functionality as soon as I can. Thanks for the article!

I like HTML 5... it's one of those changes like going from AS2 to AS3.
