Music in vectors
I love vector art. I started doing simple portraits a long time ago, just for curiosity. I used to draw pictures based on shadows so I imagine that I could make the same in mi pc. After that I discovered the world of vector and the amazing things that people was doing.
These images are from a series called “Legends of Jazz and Rock” (a series of portraits of great musicians that die in the climax of their careers) that I made looong time ago. It was this very simplistic but very direct form of portraits that called my attention the most. The people seem to like this ones and I’m still in due to make some shirts! In case you don’t recognize them, they are:
John Bonham: Drummer of Led Zeppelin, a major influence for rock drummers. Died in 1980 drowned in his own vomit after too many vodka shots. He was 32 years old.
John Coltrane : The best tenor sax of jazz history. A master en bebop and hardbop, and visionary of free jazz. Died of liver cancer in 1967 at age 40.
Jimmi Hendrix: The electric guitar demigod. Died at age 27, apparently also with vomit flooding his lungs (damn you, vomit!!!).
Jaco Pastorious: The best bass player in history, for any genre whatsoever. Died after a tremendous beating by a karate black belt bouncer in a bar. He was 35 years old.
(Yes, all of their names started with "J")
I also love more complex types of vector, but not too much, like photo realistic, because I really don’t find the sense, although I think some are pretty damn cool.
