Take a picture

description of image

A lot of time without a post!
My job, keeping the house clean, freelances, music rehearsals, spending time with Pau, all those kinds of things keep me away from posting or comment  here in Kontain (but I still watch my friends updates!).

Some time ago I made a post asking for help to the Kontain community. I was searching for a recommendation about which DSLR camera should I buy. Some good advices emerged that really helped me! Thanks!

I was undecided between a Nikon D60 and a Canon 450D. After a little more research I decided to spend a little more money and then the question was between a Nikon D5000 and a Canon 500D. My choice was the Canon 500D. Why? The Nikon D5000 looked awesome; but I saw in the Canon a better package.

As a side story, the buying process was traumatic. Amazon don’t send this kind of things to my country for warranty reasons (I think) and there were some problems with the credit card (try to explain Amazon that your bank, located in a country that don’t even talk the same language, can’t call them to confirm you’re  the owner of the credit card). Even if the Amazon customer service didn’t offer a solution (or even answered my emails) the purchase was made and was a happy ending. Now I’m the proud owner of a Canon T1i!

The camera is spectacular. The features are great and the color is awesome. I’m not even amateur to give a real concept, but I’m very happy with the purchase. The only think I don’t like about it is the auto-focus on the live view and the video, is slow and sound a lot (a problem when you’re recording video), but I think is nothing to worry about (I can use manual focus for video). Now I have to refresh all the things I learn about photography in college!
Unfortunately I don’t live in a city where you can take your $800 camera everywhere without the constant chance of being mugged (unless you walk with a lot of ninjas taking care of you) but I’m expecting to realize my desire of photograph everything out there!

Do you know where I can find some ninjas?

What a great feeling with a new camera!

Though I know from personal experience that your city is a place where you for real can't take your camera everywhere, you should not care weather it gets stolen....those are the places where you can find the best photo oportunities. The one thing you should care about is your personal safety!

The best places to take pictures are always kinda risky, but worth it. I just have to get used to my camera and hit the streets.

What do you think?
