Enter Z-Band
|
A few weeks ago the guys from the office started with the idea of making a band. Well, the office has a lot of people, so we ended with a band big enough to include a brass and a string section. We have been rehearsing for about 3 weeks now (a couple of hours per week) and things still sound a little floppy but we have a lot of energy to make it better.
Due to the amount of people, and the hard that it is to put at least 9 guys agree with everything, we divided the project in 2 bands, taking advantage that we have 2 drummers. Right now we are playing some covers from the Beatles, Red Hot Chilli Peppers (we have a great bassist, so it sounds cool), Green Day and even Michael Jackson.
Our immediate goal is to play at the company’s Christmas party in December, maybe take a little advantage of the drunken partygoers to disguise imperfections in the songs, and for some others just to try to impress the girls that work in the financial department.
I’m playing the role of the drummer in one of the bands; it doesn’t replace my dream of having a stoner rock band like Melvins or Kyuss (not my favorite genre, but is so fun to play), but is nice to play with these guys and we’re having fun doing it.
I had a nice clip of us playing Aeroplane (from the Chilli Peppers) but the sound is to saturated :( But here's a video of the other band playing "Come Back, Billy Jean"
