Alkoholprofilen is now live
|
As we promised you in our earlier entry we can now proudly present the finished result of the Alkoholprofilen application.
The old version of Alkoholprofilen was written in Flash, not very user-friendly and to be honest quite boring. Our biggest challenges were to:
- Make the site in HTML, and accessible for people without javascript
- Make the site SEO friendly
- Create an easy to control, yet dynamic user experience
- Open the site for 3rd party access via means of an API
- Create a Facebook application where you can compare your result with your friends
So what might look like flash is in fact 100% javascript.
Important to point out is that the questions and the result is something that the Alcohol committee in Sweden has developed through studies. The questions in the test are about your consumption, drinking habits, behavior, perceived problems and intoxication. The test is aiming to get you to start thinking about your drinking habits rather than “forbid” you to drink at all.
Take a look at the application here and let us know how you feel about it, whether you took the test or just want to talk about the project.

For those of you who have the patience I think you can solve almost all questions via Google Translate.
Great job guys, there's already been a lot of talk about this project!

I loved the overall feel that you get using it - and the motion/movement of the elements were indeed as close to the smooth flash transitions.
The only thing in this project that I felt was lacking were the popup items from the top right subnav area. They seemed to be a section that was not really thought out or integrated properly, rather they seemed to be put in as an afterthought.
All in all, fun little project. Was there any talk about creating a facebook application that mimics the quiz?

Doesn't work in Firefox 3.0 OS X. The footer with the "fortsätt" button is not showing. And the mouse over on the logo doesn't work either so It's impossible to know it's a link. Otherwise, good work :-)

I really like how the tabs overlap the survey and you can close them without losing your progress.

Thanks for the feedback and comments everybody! The team and I really appreciate it! It's great working with such enthusiastic and talented team mates, this has been a hell of a ride, and the outcome is absolutely worth it!
@daddymccoy21, if you make your way through the 14 questions to the Feedback zone and open the 'Jämför din Alkoholprofil' slide, you will be able to compare your feedback with the Swedish population and also share your result on Facebook and involve your friends.
@Daniel, I believe that's due to some sprites not being downloaded. We are currently experiencing significantly high server loads, and sometimes the sprites are timing out. We are working on allocating more resources to the server to help with the current load. Appreciate the comments.
@thefactory, glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
So, be honest, anyone been in the red zone yet? If you don't understand Swedish, you have nothing to worry about! ;-)

The design on this site is awesome. It has the great F-I feeling with polished graphics and great usability. Only problem was that I did'nt understand some of the swedish words but that's just because I didn't pay enough attention on swedish lessons back in school :) It really does look like a flash-site. Nice javascripting!

I like the redesign, simple and beautiful. The old version took too long to come the point.
Even though I don`t understand a word I think the site tries to tell me that I should get a drink.
In this sense: cheers and good night.

Nice work. I know the subtle elements that make these types of forms elegant and reusable take a lot of patience to craft. From a business standpoint do you see providing a non-javascript alternative as still being critical for what you do?
