A new personal site
So today I finally did it. I launched my personal website, with a fully functioning blog and portfolio. I have been a designer for a while now and really never had a functioning site.
I have always been a big fan of Virb and Tumblr (nothing against the wonderful people here at Kontain) so I thought I would use them to build my site.
But before we get into that lets talk about the design.
I wanted something very simple and clean. I didn't want a basic navigation for the home page so I went with a more content driven navigation. As for the colors and fonts I wanted something that felt modern, something bold, something elegant, something swedish (I think I was able to pull it off pretty nicely). Now let's talk about the development.
The Blog - Virb.
I am using virb to power my blog and social media hub. They do a fantastic job of bringing my entire network of social media into one place.
The Portfolio - Tumblr.
The other day I needed something quick to upload some portfolio pieces to show to a client. So I jumped onto tumblr to makes something really quick. After playing around for about an our I had what is now my portfolio for the new site.
So that is it. Please let me know what you think, I am open to any suggestions/critiques.
P.S. There are some nice little enhancements if you view it in Safari or Chrome.
