Functionalism, love it or hate it!
The area in Stockholm where I work, Kungsholmen is home to some of our countrys' finest pieses of Funkis houses. Houses built in the 30s in the architectual style of Functionalism.
Me my self grew up in a house built in this style and I used to hate it when I was younger. But the older I get the more I like it. Functionalism was at the time the answer to a modern life in an otherwise crowded and poluted city that Stockholm was back then.
Functionalism rocks! What do you think?

I agree too. We have in Bulgaria same style buildings but very ugly - concrete(beton) calls.

Nice collection. However, living in Sweden for several years, the style didn't grow on me at all. I found the majority of Swedish buildings to be unattractive and outside of Gamla Stan and the center spots built by the Germans, functional was all that could be found. Every apartment looks the same, the same doors the same stair cases, the same windows, window sills, radiators etc... Very functional but pretty cold.

Yes, but maybe you should look at it as an empty canvas. When you buy apartment it is free of all superfluous details and then your own imagination and taste come in focus.

I love this kind of "popular" architecture; i think that the beauty is not in the exterior but in the concept of "external is equal and cold for all" interior is your and u can do everything you want inside your home that represent your personality. Aesthetic quality: tidy & cool :)
